the present, the past and the future

Reviewing within a special framework the present, the past and the future, we call co-counselling. So we look from the here and now, reminding the past, into our close by or far away future in years, witnessed by somebody else who does the same at their turn in their way. Realising that being busy with the past - reliving the past - makes us the more aware, that the past is not any more the present of to day. It is like awakening of the reality of the here and now on different levels: internal and external.
Internal with the existential question who we are, where we come from and what we are doing here. Discharge on this personal level can take us to the brink of spiritual awakening and is in fact a transformation of the personal being, states John Heron. He is, without any doubt or hierarchy, the theorist 'par excellence' of CCI, without harming at all any other CCI theorist or those who practice this approach. Like the here expressed views. And on the external level he distinguishes a physical and a social section.
The aim of this all is, the transformation of habits, patterns etc. in the here and now into a new approach. Since around 1970, the model of co-counselling spread over the world. And different practitioners created several varieties in their approach with more or less authoritarian and hierarchical influences, as well in the range of community organisations or therapeutically, or otherwise.
