Attending different CCI meetings in different years, I am triggered by the observation that it seems to me, as if most of the participants, including myself, are busy – or only – interested, in their own being in the here and now. So they are 'only' triggered by all what they bring with them and or meet at the spot. There is – of course – and also in my view, nothing wrong with that. We all are busy with all what is happening now and with the need (to try) to live in peace with what has happened to us in our past, present and future. That is the most nearby. So this observation is nothing more than logic. I am also not saying 'that they have to be interested in me or in each other'. Not at all! No, I wonder about the process we all are participating in. That is a collective responsibility. As soon as we arrive. And that is going on, all the time that we are together. We developed in about 40 years, a kind of CCI culture, and that is in itself perfectly OK (with me). Still, it seems to me an ongoing process without a real exit, a real solution or a real change. Besides: not a change for a change! A change connected with our world of to day, and serving (and changing) the society we are participating in as far as they does not satisfy our needs. In other words: it is about our CCI vision and mission worldwide!remedy for change
It seems as if we have forgotten, that this CCI approach - for each of us – is a remedy for change. A change of awakening by ourselves, about what we are doing and how we are acting. That needs sharing, and interests in the process we participate in. Essential in that is to become aware about what we do, and why we do it in this way. To become aware also how we can or need to act in another way, with a more satisfying result for all. To avoid being blamed for being selfish!
The lack of interests for this process in itself is in my opinion depressing. We have some experience in the past. And better than being blamed, it is now time to be active! To ask ourselves collectively 'if the way to change, did not change itself in a pattern'.
Because this 'forgetting' is a kind of depressing. It looks like as if we 'just do', what we have learned to do, and repeat that, again and again and again. It worked well, and does so still, in certain circumstances. So there is no doubt, that the so called 'basic CCI techniques' are out of order. They still are successful. That is not the question. The question is, in my view that the remedy for change has to be actualized in our here and now!
there is more!
Because there still is more! Just go back to what happened to you, attending your first basic CCI course. At the celebration weekend of the Dutch CCI community, we were invited to do so. And the question was: What happened in those days? What changed your live? What is still impressive for you now? Going back in my history (it was 1982!) it was for me: that I just realized, as a first discovery, where and why I was triggered. Re-living that experience, I discovered also, how that had bumped against my until than unknown expectations. Interesting in that is now, if I was the only one with this experience. I do not think so. Though we did not share in the group. On the contrary! So I do not know.
Being impressed nowadays about what happens in the world around us, in different fields, economically, financially, personally, the Arab World, the protesters etc. makes it clear, that we live now in a very insecure time. Very little is to be said about the (nearby) future; as it was unclear in Europe at the times of the second world war. Suddenly we all realize (again) that living our lives is a risky business. So it needs creativity to go on!
Realizing that, is at the same time celebrating our capability of creativity. As I experienced at my first CCI training, by just doing it, taking into account that the precondition to experience were OK for me. Like also the self responsibility: to experience as long as I decided to do it. What more is, is exactly that I was ready to experience the unknown in stead of repeating what I already knew. To be eager to observe what really is going on. Like jumping into the deep swimming basin for the first time, and experience that you know how to survive and just swim!
no problem..
What really seems to happen inside me, seems to be a mix of 'free observation' within me about what happens, what reactions I observe, on the one hand and a background knowing that I am logically in charge. This seems to be something like observing in myself to what happens in me from 'another field'. And that seems me to be important for my being creative. In drawing, in writing, in solving a problem or answering my curiosity.
It is like paving the road for my creativity in an awareness on another level. This comes close to a quote of Einstein saying:' No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it!'
This also seems the source for my (personal) belief in the power - or the mystery - of giving 'free attention' and the supportive trying to observe what is going on inside me. It looks like (a kind of) 'free attention' to what happens inside me. And possibly, is this also the reason, why I have an build in resistance against the Neural Linguistic Programming (NLP) approach. Because I do not want to be told, by somebody else, 'what my words, my way of saying' in (their) reality means. That may be the way they do understand me – which is possibly a result of the poorness of my ability to express myself or has to do with their reflexions. For me, any way, does this not say anything about what I try to say by creating my words if they do not check it. It is that kind of respect for my being, what I miss in NLP. It is too close for me into the approach of authoritarian behavior.
the unknown
So those who does not know nowadays in what direction to look for a way out of the (economic, financially, humanity) situation we are in, are possibly in a certain mode of creativity and deserve our support. They are, like I was, in a position of a kind of creative process in which they do not know what the outcome will be'. That is, in my CCI approach, a very recognizable situation that also sounds very familiar. And both need, in such a situation, to be based in their creativity and to trust that we can, in their humanity, in their intentions and in their personal capacities, sharing together 'to get what they all need'.
For me is this the lesson of CCI! Live also in peace with the unknown!
