a ww CCI-review 1

This is the first contribution of this special type for CCIWNS and so it is a try out! A 'ww' CCI-review is an abbreviation of 'a world-wide' alphabetical round along CCI websites. The coordinator of this website, CCI World News Service (CCIWNS), intends to organize such rounds, time by time, several (2?) times a year and so over the years. He doesn't pretend that this is a complete view. If necessary, not only the different websites he knows of, will be checked, but also by personal emails information may be gathered. And also the answers to such invitation to contribute, might need to be re-edited and that text has to be checked with these authors also before publishing. Only the public accessible part of the different websites will be named as such and will be quoted in CCIWNS.

The intention is, to contribute - on a world-wide scale - to the exchange of what is publicly on top in the different CCI communities and their sites. And this especially regarding the views about and the items around the CCI approach. The expectation is, that by the years, CCI and local or national CCI websites, will open up to inform publicly about their way of handling emotional and spiritual items. Doing so they will grow, and that's where these expectations root.

language problems

Doing so, it is clear that already at this moment – and in the future far more - language problems have to be faced. This is a challenge – not only for CCIWNS but for all of us. On a worldwide scale! Because what we all have in common is, that we all are human beings. That we all have - in some way or another – a need to belong to a bigger whole in our personal individuality. And, that we possibly have more and possibly other needs in common, than we are aware of now. Like for instance a more outspoken non hierarchical, respectful and a well balanced rational approach, and by that a less competitive or aggressive approach, also as a key to 'the unseen'!

the first

Starting this first review, the website of the South Pacific Centre for Human Inquiry of John Heron was consulted and attracted my attention. Not only because of John's image 'space is consciousness' (November 2010) on top of this try-out, but also the announcement of an inquiry: 'co-creating transformation of co-counselling' (January 2009). This evoked a follow up in the theoretical documentation part of this website as well as a special article about this 'follow up'- transformation (see wording and transformation).

the different sites

The German (Münster) website of Haus Kloppenburg gives general information about (CCI) co-counselling and especial about the CIM community meeting every first Sunday of every month from 5-7.30 PM at Haus Kloppenburg in Münster. CIM organizes also at this spot every year a CIM theme weekend. Siglind and Johannes, the two initiators of this community, stepped back and will soon publish their book about more than 30 years experiences with CCI co-counselling during their practice at Haus Kloppenburg. The CIM part of this site contains a list of 18 trainers with their phone numbers.
The Hamburger website (http://www.co-counseln-lernen.de/) refers to CCI activities, in Hamburg, Stade, Kiel, Berlin, Rheinland- Pfalz, Bayern and Münster. This site, called 'learning co-counselling' (in the CCI way and in German: Co-Counseln-Lernen) offers a survey about the method, a manual of the techniques, the first steps 'how to do it' with your partner, a friend or a colleague', a map of Germany indicating (personal) CCI activities (3 networks, 1 trainers education, and 5 personal activities); recommended literature and a question- and answer section. The website of the CCI community in Kiel is not active.
The Hungarian CCI site (http://co-counselling.ning.com/) is only in the Hungarian languages, and is also only accessible after registration (in Hungarian).
In Ireland the website CCI Co-Counseling International. Contacts for CCI trainings is part of the Catalase website of Bobby and James, and invites you to deal well with emotionally difficult situations and use CCI co-counselling for that. It explains frequently asked questions about what it is, who is it for?, who is it not for, what will I gain and where does it come from, will it train me to be a counsellor?, did Sandor Ferenczi invent co-counselling? and what is the international scene like?
The Israeli CCI website of the Dror community publishes their vision in English saying: ' our vision is the attainment and dissemination of knowledge on the liberation of the individual from his/her distresses by means of provision of literature, workshops, classes and support groups in order to enable women and men to think and behave optimally for themselves and for others with love, respect, recognition, leadership and responsibility. The Dror community is committed to bring this knowledge to the greater community, to different sectors in the population, and aspires to encourage leadership among Dror members. Dror is a democratic community and is autonomous and works jointly with similar communities abroad.' In their activity agenda on the home page they invite their readers also to check the CCI movie, produced by Joke Stassen (2009) and publishes the open letter from Dror to CCI in 2010.
The website of the Dutch community CCN in the Netherlands is at this moment under revision and not up to date. When the revision is completed CCIWNS shall pay special attention to this site. Another Dutch site about CCI is the bi-lingual (Dutch/English) one, paying attention to handling emotions/NVC/CCI. This site with sections informs about, among others, news, about CCI co-counselling, CCI-co-creating, the CCI international network etc.
In the New Zealand (Aotearoa) co-counselling site  Diana answers the question what is (CCI) co-counselling. The site is linked to the special brochure (as PDF document), including the registration form for attending the 2012 international CCI meeting in Taupo at the North Island. The gathering is open to people who have completed a 40 hour training course in CCI Co-Counselling that flyers says. Contacts for fundamental trainings are on the site as well as an overview of CCI connected websites.
The in the UK (Scotland) based general CCI information website 'getting creatively on with life', is a partly public, partly members only site. It is an informative website with its special personal and local influences. For interesting visitors it would be nice to create a message telling them why they are invited to log in and by whom. And it would be nice too to inform visitors what the aim is of the site itself. The home page starts with answering the question 'what is co-counselling?' – without the annotation CCI. It says that 'There is no single interpretation of what Co-Counselling is about' and mentions that 'the various CCI co-counselling interpretations are listed in (the communities in) Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Ireland, the UK, the USA and Israel'. There is no reference to sources like the South Pacific Centre for Human Inquiry of John Heron or CCI World News Service. That is the more amazing because John's website is a very rich source for the theory and development of CCI.
Visiting the Co-Counselling UK home page you may very quickly get lost in the earlier mentioned site, because they turns out, by practice, to be linked. So suddenly you are in an other site than where you started. This especially is the case by visiting the history section of the site. Though they have their own explanation of course of what co-counselling is and is not. Not being very clear whether this is with, or without the CCI approach. The same happens by consulting the two Scottish websites about co-counselling, one  the Co-Counselling International in Scotland, and two the Cornucopia approach, both without the CCI annotation. Both website interfere with the other two UK websites mentioned above.
The CCI-USA website informs about the vision and mission of this community and the CCI approach of co-counselling. Public available is also a section about what is co-counselling, an overview of classes and workshops and an overview of articles and news like the annual report of the Strategic Planning Committee. Finally there is a section only accessible by members of the community. Informative are also the different quotes from (world wide) CCI community members on the site.

finally

This first try out is far from complete. The fact that the list of UK CCI trainers, on the UK teachers' list in their website counts 50 trainers, while the number of UK CCI trainers in CCI World News Service is at this moment only nine, says enough. So there is work enough to do! In this report we miss also information about how CCI co-counselling develops in Sri Lanka and on other places in the world! Most, more local CCI websites are focused on energizing people to explore the CCI approach personally. By participating in a fundamental course. Internet supports those local initiatives tremendously. Also because those private decisions are part of our private life. And internet is very private! So it is also an excellent vehicle for spreading the CCI mission and vision, about self responsibility, the lack of authoritarian influences etc. as part of the core business of this approach. And CCIWNS intends to support that.
